Looking Out for My Little girl!
Brian did awesome job , my daughter suffered a head injury in a accident and the cops believed she was under the influence of drugs, which was far from the truth. Police charged her with OVI and Failure to control actually charged her twice for it in different jurisdictions! He was able to get case dropped to what she should of been charged with in the beginning! We were very happy with the outcome of a bad situation! He was passionate how he handled the case and was persistent with the courts! Kept me informed with all the information and court dates! Obviously took almost a year to get it all settled mostly because of the pandemic and court scheduling! Good sharp young man! Highly recommended him!

The Best Experience
I truly had the best experience this past month with Bryan as my lawyer. I thought my life was over when I was charged with physical control with no prior record. I didn’t know what to expect and hiring a lawyer was something i’ve never had to do. Bryan worked so hard to keep in touch, answer all of my questions and let me know what to expect at both of my court dates. He walked me through the best and worst possible outcomes and of course, the best possible outcome happened! A physical control turned into a reckless operation which is what I wanted, no alcohol related offenses on my record!! Absolutely The Best Attorney I've Ever Worked With!
I've battled mental health issues my entire life and have gotten in more than my fair share of grief over the years and turned to Mr. Hawkins after my 7th petty theft offense with one previous felony theft. I was certain the court would throw the book at me but Mr. Hawkins, while making no promises, was extremely reassuring and helped me immensely. He helped to bring my case before the best judge possible, worked with the prosecutors, the judge, and was able to bring about a resolution that placed me placed on just one year of probation, with no same or similar offense, and fines waived. Unbelievable skill. Throughout, Bryan was easily accessible and always took my calls and patiently answered my questions, unlike previous attorneys I had retained who, once they received their retainer, refused to take my calls or return my messages. Kindness, Understanding & Professionalism
I was referred to Bryan and I am grateful I was. He was easy to get ahold of, replied quickly and was extremely efficient. Living in the most stressful time in my life so far, I was late to meeting Doctors and other Care Takers at the hospital where my newborn was “living” in the NICU. I swiped a parked car and with only one thing on my mind I ran inside to meet with the hospital staff before (as I regret) attempting to find the driver. I had full intentions on finding the driver once I had the chance. Before I could, the driver and the car left the hospital parking lot. I was charged with a Hit & Run. Bryan was able to help me achieve a lower plea of a Reckless Operation, saving me a suspended license (& even possible jail time). He truly was a saving grace during this trying time. Calming Presence
Shawn did an excellent job representing me in my OVI case. Shawn and Windy were extremely informative and prompt in their communication. Ultimately I plead guilty because the penalties allowed me to miss the least amount of work. Shawn was able to get me "very permissive" driving privileges per the judge. Of note, Shawn was confident that we could have beat the case in a trial, but going that route would have resulted in more missed work and a longer automatic license suspension because I refused the breathalyzer test. Exceptional Lawyer, HIGHLY Recommend
I was faced with a 2nd OVI charge with a breathalyzer refusal. Because i refused I was looking at 20 days in jail, yellow license plates, and an interlock device. Lets just say the prosecution would have had the cards stacked against me if they had a chance to review the evidence. I was utterly shocked when Bryan told me I had the option to accept a plea deal to a stipulated first offense! No jail time or yellow license plates, 1 year suspension. If you’re charged with a DUI, you need to hire a lawyer who specializes almost entirely in this area of the law. Hire Bryan.

Diligent And Personable
When I was charged with OVI in Morrow County I spent countless hours shopping around for an attorney. I made the decision to hire Bryan because he was one of the few attorneys to be generous with his time and give me his full attention during our initial consultation. Throughout the four month duration of my case Bryan was very accessible, promptly addressing my questions and concerns as they arose. He was sympathetic to the stress I was under but realistic about the potential outcomes of my case. Very Knowledgeable, Very Efficient, And Very Fair!
I contacted Bryan's law firm, (Dominy Law Firm, LLC) 3 days before my OVI court date, 2 of them being the weekend. Everyone at Dominy is great to work with. Very Well Known Throughout The Courts
After getting an OVI with a high breath test, I quickly reached out and contacted the Dominy law firm. I had never had a run in with the law and was very intimidated by what had happened that night and didn’t know how to take it. Bryan contacted me within a very short amount of time. Through the entire process he was not only very knowledgeable but also professional and easy to work. He is very well known throughout the Franklin County Courts. Between himself and paralegal Windy, they kept in touch throughout the whole process through email and phone. During a very stressful situation, he never allowed me to have false hope and showed me the reality of the situation I got myself into. OVI Third Offense
I was looking at a third OVI offense with refusal, as well as a speeding ticket, failure to signal and illegal lane change. This would have resulted in a minimum of 60 days in jail, forfeiture of my vehicle and no doubt, loss of employment. After quite a bit of research, I hired Mr. Dominy to represent me. Both Mr. Dominy and his paralegal Windy were both professional, courteous and prompt to answer any and all questions I had. Mr. Dominy was flexible with phone consultations and was even willing to call later than his normal business hours. Mr. Dominy is very knowledgeable and detail oriented. If there are any mistakes made by the arresting officer, he will find them. Mr. Dominy was able to get my charge reduced to a stipulated second offense with all other charges dismissed, no vehicle forfeiture, 2 year driving suspension with work privileges and only 10 days in a “private jail”. Without Mr. Dominy, I doubt any of that would be possible. I highly recommend Mr. Dominy for anyone who is in the situation I was in.

100% Recommend Shawn
My case was really difficult because I did the breath test and there was nothing wrong with it. The prosecutor was a really pain in the butt, and didn't want to make a plea deal at all. By the end of the case, my OVI charges were dropped and I had just a marked lanes violation which is basically the same as a speeding ticket. Shawn really knows what he's talking about. I'm so glad I chose him. Definitely wouldn't bother looking else where. Hire him.

Strong Attention To Detail & Profound Knowledge Of The Law, OVI-Related Charges & The Legal Process
Shawn recently represented me for a case which resulted in an arrest for OVI, open container & a traffic signal indication and my license was revoked immediately. I cooperated at the scene for all 3 field sobriety tests. Later, I refused the breathalyzer test at the station. Having had a few drinks earlier, I personally felt that I didn’t want to potentially arm the prosecution with any additional recorded evidence to use against me.
Shawn Dominy was highly recommended from a lawyer friend as being “The Best” in his field. Therefore, I didn’t waste time talking to other lawyers or price shopping, but instead retained Shawn pretty quickly. He called me back within a half hour of my initial inquiry, which caught me off-gaurd, as I didn’t expect that. From the start, I was impressed by his knowledge of the law, his attention to detail, his thoroughness in examining the details of the case & his regular consistent communication (through emails, phone calls & in person) in terms that I could understand. He calmed my worries a bit because he was not intimidating when I asked questions or needed further clarification. He always called within minutes of our scheduled conference calls.
Mr Dominy was very quick to file any & all potential paperwork, above and beyond what he “might” need as the case unfolded. He also made sure I was kept up to date on the status of what was happening behind the scenes. Luckily, when I was finally seen in court 3 weeks out from my offense—which was not within 5 days of the offense per the law—his due diligence in filing allowed for a Stay of the Administrative License Suspense to be granted. His quick filing of paperwork & his attention to using “details in the law” to his advantage, was the ONLY reason my license was reinstated that day. Surpring to me still, this means I got my license back 3 wks after my initial offense! This also meant I was able to drive for an additional 2 1/2 months while my case was still pending. I would not have been able to legally drive had Shawn not filed a motion to terminate the ALS, which he did immediately after I retained him. This definitely improved morale & helped me and my family better function & tackle what needed done everyday in a less stressful way.
My case just ended & all the original charges were dropped. A plea was offered for Physical Control, which is a no point, non-moving violation. In accepting that plea, I was given less than all the mandatory, minimum sentences with the original charges. My sentence included 6 months driving suspension which was backdated to the time of the offense (instead of 12 months minimum), 6 months non-reporting probabtion (instead of a minimum of a year) and 3 day alcohol education course was offered (in place of 3 days mandatory jail time). Personally, this seemed like a “best case scenario” & was not something I was sure could happen without a trial. Shawn allowed me to make my own decisions, based on what was offered & didn’t try to influence my decisions. When weighing all the options though, I sincerely believed and agreed with Mr. Dominy that we could probably win a trial & be found “not guilty”. However, for me, it was important to plead guilty to the reduced charges that were offered & accept whatever sentence the judge ordered .....so I could finally move on and put this all behind me sooner.
I haven’t had time to do my research yet, so I’m not sure what the Physical Control charge will look like with my insurance company or the BMV. However, I’m fairly certain the zero points will look way better in comparison to that of an OVI & the related charges. Through all this, I learned a lot about the legal process. I hope to never have to use Shawn Dominy as a defense lawyer in the future personally, but I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending him to others who find themselves in a similar predicament. He’s good & knows his stuff.
